Cornell Class of 2020 Regular Decision Discussion Thread

Has anyone received any emails from Cornell recently? All I’ve received since I applied is:
Supplemental Application Materials, Cornell University ApplicantID Created, and an email from an alumni for my interview but these were all at least a month ago. I haven’t applied for financial aid so I haven’t gotten an email about that. Anyone receive any emails recently?

@rhdhtai thanks, I have sort of written this one off although it would be my top choice due to my experience and aspirations @mihirt19 I have not received any emails since my application and did not receive an interview either. I did not apply for financial aid so I wouldn’t get anything in that regard.

@rhdhtai do you mean the early march acceptance? or a diversity LL?

@jaxson thanks, needed some reassurance hahaha

@cuhopeful16 I was the one asking about guaranteed transfer and omg, what did you ask them exactly and what was the email you used? Perhaps they added that to your application because you deserve it or have the scores idk, but i would definitely appreciate you getting back to me.

I haven’t

heyy guys lol my first time on an ivy thread…this is prob already discussed but I was just wondering if u guys know when cornell is releasing…is it march 31st like upenn?

@Princetonian9
My email: I know that decisions are basically made at this point, but I was wondering if there is any way to indicate interest in an acceptance into the following semester or year. Please let me know how I can do this. Thank you!

Their email back: Thank you for your continued interest in the College of Human Ecology at Cornell University.
We will include this request with your application materials.

@clairepear All Ivies release on the same day, so yes.

@clairepear yes

@cuhopeful16 thank you that is perfect! I’m gonna send one right now! Wait hold on where did you get their email from?

@cuhopeful16 That’s the generic response they respond to for any email you send. Regarding a GT, you are automatically considered for it during the application process if they cannot offer you fall admission. For spring admission ,which only 20 HumEc students usually receive, you would need to check the box on your common application saying you would like to be considered. If you didn’t it’s likely too late for them to offer you that option now but GT and Fall are still in your hands! Be patient and you’ll hopefully get what you’re looking for on the 31st : )

Oh. Well any opportunity to attend Cornell is worth investigating. I did check the box to be considered for spring admission though.

@litlhoward2468 I’m talking about the early march acceptance. Not a diversity hosting (he’s Caucasian)

@CCSenioritis I figured it was but it never hurts to keep in contact with them. That’s how most deferred students get in.

the only email i got was i the beginning for application received, is that a bad sign, anyone else? I feel as if they just basically threw away my application and forgot about me

Is it even worth sending an email to admissions notifying them of some new awards that just popped up? I was just named Valedictorian, but decisions come out in just three days. Not sure if they’re even still active at this point.

@CautiousOptimist I would say that they could probably tell you were of that caliber while reading your app so it should not matter now.

@CautiousOptimist I won first place in science fair and won more awards further up In the ranks but this was like in February and March. I think it’s too late and besides we’re all just a couple days away :-SS

@Princetonian9 I’m pretty sure I’m trying to cling to anything because it’s so close… The past few weeks I’ve been so busy that my other rejections so far (MIT, uChicago, Northwestern, CMU) didn’t hurt so bad since I had so many other things on my mind… Now it’s spring break, all my friends are out of town, and I’ve got nothing to think about but the four big elephants in the room coming Thursday.
