Cornell Class of 2020 Regular Decision Discussion Thread

@mads94 I mean, I’m not entirely sure if Cornell does it. But then again, this year has been insane with admissions…everything is really up in the air!

@mads94 lol, 2400 here and I was waitlisted at two places. Prepping for more waitlsits/rejection on Thursday. 2400 isn’t a guarantee of admission anywhere–– it’s just a guarantee that you won’t be rejected because of your SATs.

Not trying to fuel any flame but just wanted to clarify that the Berkeley waves were accurate and the first wave was acceptance 2nd waitlist and 3rd rejection

Do FA packages come with the acceptance?

@dorothylewes it does fuel much flames, first of all. i mean, we can’t speculate anything right now, although i would be in between waitlist-acceptance if that is the case

@dorothylewes Nah, I think they did it by region. Four people in my class got the diversity letter to Cornell and if everyone else received the email at the ‘acceptance’ time, it makes it highly unlikely Cornell took this many kids from a class of 170 kids.

@dorothylewes It is not true. I know I am accepted, but I was in the last wave of receiving the email.

I NEED THEM TO ACCEPT MEH ARGHHH… Best of luck to everyone i hope the odds are in everyone’s favor. :-bd :-bd :-bd

@kunchandak It’s definitely not by region. My friend at school got his at 8:30ish pacific, whereas I got mine at 7:13. And to no offense whatsoever, I can garuntee that he won’t be accepted (wow, that sounds really bold, but you get the gist).

@maxentius I didn’t mean email, I meant when they were updating portals and the words disappeared based on waves. AND SORRY GUYS OKAY LOL I DIDNT MEAN ANYTHING IM JUST AS STRESSED AS YALL

The easiest solution to this conspiracy is on Thursday when we all get our results, just include what time we got the email and within the first few posts it should be obvious if there is a correlation or not!! So let’s all just wait and not cause anymore unnecessary stress

true, so true

ALSO PLEASE GUYS TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION THAT SOME PEOPLE ARE EASTERN TIME WHILE SOME ARE PST. PST IS 3 hours BEHIND EASTERN TIME SO WE PRETTY MUCH ALL GOT IT THE SAME TIME

Im nervous.

I feel ya @Princetonian9 I can’t even sleep at night lol

im so lost, can someone please explain to me what letter this is? I never got any diversity letter or any such thing from cornell; does this mean im rejected already?

@firestorm98 the only people who have been offered admissions as of now are accepted early decision people, women in engineering, likely letters for top applicants and the diversity letter is for minorities not including Asians I believe. No you are not rejected if u have not received anything yet because the majority of us are in the same boat as u and are waiting for tommorow. (Also if ur a minority or a woman in engineering and have not received anything, it doesn’t mean u are rejected, only a small amount receive early admissions!)

Also other forms of admissions can be the tanner scholarship for those in cas and some early admissions that were sent out to applicants in SHA or ILR. Yes this seems like a lot of people but a majority of us are waiting for tommorow and there is no point in worrying because u will know by tommorow  good luck to all of u :)))

This is off topic, I willI decide my top choice and enroll the week, so does it help other applicants to notify the schools I will not be attending sooner or they don’t go into Spring admit or waitlist sooner until after May anyway? These threads make me feel guilty for having any spots that I won’t be taking. (Not speaking of Cornell, just generally)

@jaxson I’m not sure if it will help immediately but it will def let the school know that a new space has been opened for those on the waiting list! It won’t hurt to let them know as soon as u make ur deposit and choice but I know most schools for example the ucs don’t notify those on the waiting list until after May 1st.
