Cornell Class of 2020 Regular Decision Discussion Thread

How likely is an acceptance of the waitlist If I want to take a gap year anyway?

Guaranteed/Conditional Transfer spot lol . …

@Princetonian9 Not good. International, 31 ACT (w/ 34 in Math), 770 Math lv2, 730 Physics, 105 TOEFL.

Yours?

Waitlisted. I’m honored

Oh, so if you have the transfer thing. It is not Spring admission because they were in fact notified today…

“Cornell also anticipates enrolling 60 additional freshmen in January 2017 as the second class of students in the First-Year Spring Admission program, established in 2015 to expand access to a Cornell education. These students were notified March 31 that they had been admitted for entry in January; they will enroll in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the College of Arts and Sciences.”

ANYONE KNOW HOW LIKELY IT IS TO GET OFF OF THE WAITLIST?!

Waitlisted. Of course it’s not the decision I hoped for, but I’ve already committed to a different university. Still exciting!

Congrats to all.

Btw- the T-shirt link is now online if the accepted people want the free t-shirt…

rejected from cornell, accepted to Penn!!! (Michigan too, but unfortunately that’s gonna get thrown by the wayside)

ACCEPTED!!!

Accepted! So happy.

@grimx98 Ha you’re so much better than me, 4.1 Weighted, 1830 sat

Whoever got the transfer option by all means go through with it! I was offered the same thing last year (same letter and everything), and the whole process is very easy. They have a great staff at Transfer Admissions who are very helpful and full of information. The other letter comes in about a week or so. As long as you meet the criteria they give, depending on which college you applied to, your acceptance for the specified term is practically 99.999% guaranteed. Best of luck to all of you!

@lmcmahon97 what college did you apply to?

Rejected

Would my saying I would be willing to do the spring semester be the reason I was placed on the wait list and not rejected? And how/when do people find out about the spring semester admission?

@lmcmahon97 Is it after 2 semesters? Where did you go frehman year?

@GPatrick I’m pretty sure they were told in their letter that they were admitted for the spring
