cornell decision email: wrong submitted date?

berryb08: CAS. no likely letter...

Ooh.. Wow. So I got to page 24 and then skipped all the way to the end because I'll never finish reading this otherwise. But yeah. I'm a CALS deferral that has a 1:44 time :( I feel like I'm going to be waitlisted.. What did you guys end up thinking which times signified waitlist/accept/reject?

^^^hahaha
Elysium49: UIUC is a good school. I know several people who go there and they love it. I heard its great for engineering.
I'm off to USC if Cornell doesn't work out.

USC would be crazy.....a lot better than a cornfield in IL...i hate this state....haha...its either freezing or humidly hot.....lots of snow..but no mountains to ski on... ADVICE TO ANYONE CONSIDERING AN IL COLLEGE AS BACKUP.....don't come here.

ironically...i may have to go against my own advice.

Yeah UIUC is a good school. As for my alternate choice of college.. I'm thinking about UMich if I don't get Cornell..

Lol Elysium.. I take it IL bores you? Personally the idea of picking corn has always somewhat thrilled me..

LOL nice try afro.

my cousin goes to michigan and really likes it. so...don't even worry about cornell.. you got yourself a nice backup. haha

Grrrrrr, we should get admitted for all the work we've done today!!!
I want to go to cornell!!!

yeah, people in illinois at least have a lot of respect for u of i urb/champ. and tnn is right about engineering - i know people who choose it over northwestern or washu. it's also a really nice school/campus altogether. i'm sure others have a lot of respect for it, too - because there is at least an upper layer of really smart kids (and a lot of valedictorians, 30s in act-ers choose to go to u of i who don't wish to be too far away from home - which is how a lot of small town kids in illinois feel)

Yeah, I like everything I've heard about Michigan, I just haven't visited it yet. I have heard theres a lot of indians - but I'm Sri Lankan, so I guess I'll fit right in :D Eek, everything seems to pale in comparison to Cornell though.

tnn thats exactly my feeling "I WANT TO GO TO CORNELL!"

i know.. i most definitely agree....but i will probably be confined to the long, hopeless waitlst....

ahhhhhhhhhh noooooooo
being waitlisted would be the equivalent of a long, painful death.
deferral was bad enough, i wouldn't be able to take a waitlist..
but then again, rejection would be worse!
So I guess I'm hoping for a waitlist, at the least...

urb/champ is not a cornfield. the people i know who go there rave of bars and huge athletic events and all sorts of events like unofficial. if you went there i bet you'd end up liking it. (everyone i know who goes there is obsessed with it).

i guess uiuc isn't a horrible fate..haha. idk about all of you...but i don't want to stay with all of the people from my school...i want to venture out.... half of the top 10% of my class is going to uiuc... its become a cliche....

but thanks for the reassurance... i'm a little less anti u of i than before.

Are any of you guys AAP applicants?

ugh I hate waitlists. I was waitlisted for Washu and I won't take "no" or "sort of" for an answer at Cornell!

waitlsit would suck so bad, i jsut want the final descision.

ahh i see now elysium. that's actually why i didn't apply there.

Ah yeah, I definitely don't want to be going to schools where a lot of kids from my school will be going.. I know the chances of running into them much are slim, but I just don't like the idea of it. I want to be unique 8] I want to be a cornellian!
