Cornell decisions

This reminds me of my physics TA last semester who told me that when he grades things, the first quarter usally gets slaughtered.

Maybe they perceive transferring from Chicago or Rice as whimsical?

meyer- why do you want to leave chicago? (i applied there for transfer)

3.58 at Chicago. Maybe not the greatest, but something I worked damn hard for nonetheless.

If anything, both you and grapes were sure-admits, in my opinion.

Hey!! Grapes...
r u a sophomore transfer or a junior transfer.....it might make a difference....

martini what do you mean by that?

i'm applying for sophomore year....what about you guys?

If he is coming from Rice, it does not make the slightest.

You know what this says about your other speculations...sigh.

meyer, I think martini just meant to point out that the first to be examined always get the toughest scrutiny.

They're releasing decisions this late at night?

Shut the **** up, . I'm the juggernaut, *. I've been waitin' for this * my whole life!

Ahhhh... This thread is depressing.

As far as prestige goes, I can't compete with Chicago and 4.0 Rice students!

I hope Engineering has mercy on my poor community college soul.

Feel sorry for me Cornell... Please! lol

man, i thought the whole advantage of rolling admissions was that the earlier you sent your app in, the earlier it would be read and the greater your chances of acceptance

Thanks nspeds. I guess transferring is really a crapshoot. I had two excellent recs and wrote (at least what I thought) were good essays that I spent a lot of time on.

To answer your question grapes4:

Chicago is a fine school, and if I get rejected everywhere (and even if I don't) I won't have second thoughts about staying here. The problem has to do more with my academic focus, which might be better met elsewhere (not Cornell as much as the other three, however).

http://www.h-bomb.org/

That should cheer everyone up.

This is crazy.....cant believe that a 4.0 from Rice got rejected....This is like the most absurd thing ever...What more do they want in a transfer...

Hard luck!! grapes..u will surely get in somewhere else...

really meyer, whats your academic focus?

thanks for the kind words pepsicoke...i hope you're right. what school are you at now?

I am at University of California, San Diego....

pepsi, what are your top choices?
meyer, you too

How do you like UCSD? I'm waiting for my decision.
