Cornell decisions

Darleen from HumEc just called me to say that I got in, HD program! Soo happeee. I should mention that my GPA was roughly 3.25 (calibrated from a canadian school).... no GT, but I did get in last year, I just had to withdraw due to extenuating circumstances.

GOOD LUCK!

tuition is 18k/year i think, i'm not too sure what it is for non-NYS people. And no, Binghamton is not as good as Cornell.

Now i am starting to think in terms of which school would look better when I go to apply to grad school (obviously, Cornell) but at the same time I am very intimidated by the academic rigor at Cornell. I think I could hack it, but i know i'd have to work hard all the time and i'm worried that I might get overly stressed. And yeah, it is about 2x the price of Bing. which is a bummer. Any input from anyone would be cool.

ttyl

go to cornell...the experience of being at a school like that will be worth it

I heart the HumEc adcom. Anyone else still afraid it might be a mistake and they'll take it back in a week?

Any engineering decisions yet?

I haven't heard yet (engineering). I think they'll probably announce them all at once, rather than have them rolling like they currently are. They have to have made quite a few decisions already, but no one's heard, so that's my thinking. I'll post it up as soon as I hear about my rejection.

Come on, dude. Don't give up yet. lol

Actually I don't know about your non-rolling argument. I talked to the engineering office on April 26th, and they told me there were no decisions yet and that it would be at least a couple of weeks until the first decisions are sent. So maybe they release in batches, and the first batch won't be out until then. I hope I'm in the first batch! Unless, of course, it's a rejection batch. :-)

Fellow engineers, what's your major? I am electrical.

I'm mechanical. I only sent one transfer app in, which was to Cornell as a prayer. I go to a good school already, and Cornell has always been my dream school, so why not give it a shot? That being said, I won't be too disappointed when I get rejected, so it's ok.

are any engineering majors harder to get into for transfers? Which ones are easier/harder if anyone knows?

The engineering physics major is probably the hardest to transfer into.

That's the one I applied to. :D I think I made a really good case, so who knows?

My second choice is electrical (I'm not sure how hard it is to get in there).

My guesses for the easiest to get into are the environmental or civil engineering majors.

Hmmmmmm... I really like one-sentence paragraphs, don't I? lol

I got in!!!!!!!! for mechanical

How in the world did you find out?

!!!!!!!!

I almost forgot: congrats!!

Just a few minutes ago you were sure of rejection. I told you not to give up. :-)

congratulations! It was John's positive thoughts that got you in ;)

How did you find out??

hahahaha, yeah then an email popped up. The subject was "Congratulations!" and i figured it was some spam or something. I had to read it twice to make sure. Thanks to everyone on CC (telling me not to give up, eh?), you all helped me a lot to get through all of this. It's good to have somewhere to talk to people doing the same thing. God luck to you all!

still haven't decided if i'm going yet, but for those who have been accepted and got the "Case For Cornell" in the mail, was your reply card/deposit info in there? because i got my "case for cornell" today and it had no info. about the deposit.

Well now I'm gonna be checking my email like a freak until I get something. :D

soccer, which school do u go to? and what were ur stats like? ..if u dont mind.
