Does Cornell look at 1st quarter senior year grades? Are they a factor in ED admission? I have a strong junior year transcript, but my 1st quarter senior year will basically be comprised of one major test in each of my classes, so I have no chance to get back up if I do badly on one test (I’m two weeks into my senior year).
When my D applied ED, her first Q grades were not posted until after the application deadline. A Cornell Admissions Counselor called her Guidance Counselor about 10 days before decision day, inquiring about how she had done 1st Q. I have no idea if this was done for everyone who applied ED. She applied to College of Human Ecology.
My D applied ED last year. Cornell admissions did a live twitter event last October and the question was asked about 1st Q grades/transcripts, and the answer was yes, they do want to see these if you are applying ED. So have your GC send it along.
