Wouldn’t CAS be easier to get in ED because it has a lower yield rate and the purpose of ED is to increase yield?
could be…I really doubt the difference is meaningful
@Bjklw2a Idk about that… CAS is the most applied to college out of all at Cornell.
Yeah the math gets tough when you factor in land grant versus non, number of apps, difference in applicant pool etc.
Well, I guess all we can do is wait and see. Best of luck, yall!
Submitting the app tonight… god i’m so nervous lol
If I’m applying to CALS, would there be a lot of opportunities for me to take classes at CAS if I’m interested in the humanities as well?
I can’t decide if I want to ED at Cornell or Brown. Any comments on why you guys chose Cornell? And is the vibe between the various colleges different? Are there divisions or are you basically admitted to the university?
Thanks!
@featherkin If you still aren’t 100% sure on your first choice, I would discourage you from applying ED. I’m a senior in high school so I’m not sure about the requirements, but I know a portion of your classes are in your major, in your college, and outside of your college. They have more info on their website. What major are you applying to?
I chose Cornell because few top schools have my major, nutritional sciences, and Cornell is highly ranked for it. Also, when I visited, I fell in love with so many things: the campus, the location, the atmosphere. Visiting really helps if this is an option for you–I was able to sit in on classes at the time I visited.
Sorry I don’t know that much but I hope this helps!
Does anyone know how you log in to the financial aid thing? I keep entering my applicant id info but it says it’s invalid even though it works for everything else
@featherkin you can take classes at CAS for your free electives. Check their website for the course credits break-up, it’ll clarify a lot of stuff!
Does being a female help at all with admissions to Dyson? just wondering because on their website it says 39% female… also does anyone know the ED acceptance rate for Dyson (AEM)?
@hleeigh I’m not completely sure about my major yet, but I was thinking environmental engineering. I don’t live close so I can’t really visit at this point. But I think I’m just going to go for it.
@icarus29 Awesome! I checked it out. Seems great.
Thanks so much for your responses!
I was also wondering whether Dyson is part of CALS or not. When I click CALS on the Common App, AEM is a major choice, but Dyson (+ AEM) is also listed separately in the college choice dropbox. Are they separated or is it part of CALS? Can a person in CALS major in AEM?
Does anyone know when to send AP scores to Cornell? Is it after you are accepted??
@lulu0207 I self reported mine in common app and will send them officially if I’m accepted
@lulu0207 same. Self reporting, will send if accepted!
Hey guys
I was wondering what would a respectable score look like for an engineering major? I have a 1460 on the new sat which I’m not very confident about, and 1540 on the subject tests(Math 1 and Physics)
Hey guys I am also applying to Cornell ed.
Please review my profile.

So can I get in??
Hello everyone! I’m not sure if someone already answered this, but how long did it take for your SAT scores to get to Cornell? I sent mine October 15 and they haven’t arrived yet how long should I wait before I can start being concerned?
Edit/PS: I sent ACT scores on the same day and those have arrived
@jionrubia They’ve already arrived or are sitting in the data dump waiting to be matched to your file. CB isn’t the best about updating the true status.
