@LV98xx I’m from Virginia, UAE is far cooler gg. Also, I wouldn’t worry about the ID because it seems like it takes them 3-4 days to get it to you.

Had me worried for a while. My s applying to engineering and seems no interview required.
@Shrilkshire you’ll get into Michigan and GA Tech. Cornell is a toss up. Why? Because your profile looks like 95% of the other “chance me” threads for Cornell - including mine. On paper you are qualified, but you already know that. What you didn’t include in your question was what makes you attractive to Cornell? Why should they choose you from the 5000 other ED applicants with the same or better scores? If you answered that in your essays then you have a good chance.
Any chance the alumni doing these individual meetings are giving regular feedback to admissions on each applicant they meet? They are billed as optional and not as an evaluation.
@cotopaxi I tried to do that in the essays, but I’m not the best writer so we’ll see in a month :’)
I haven’t been contacted by alumni yet. Do they contact by phone or by email? Also, the application status says they have my Common App but don’t have the supplement, school transcript, or recommendations. I’m confused because they were all marked as completed on the common app. Has this happened to anyone else?
@cotopaxi personally, I’d be reticent telling anyone they’re a sure bet for a school with a 26% acceptance rate. layer on the oos demographic and engineering major…maybe a better term would be a “great bet”.
otoh, @Shrilkshire are you applying to mich? If I’m your parent, I’m having a hard time paying oos with UVA in my backyard.
The alumni interviews are based on availability of a local alumnus. They are informational, but the alumnus does provide a short report back to the school. Seems like a very minor overall impact and it seems many are accepted without the interview having happened.
Applied Monday and just recieved my Applicant ID this morning!
How long does it take for an alumnus to reach out after applying? Given they’re in the area…
@Euler21 Same for me. Went to my guidance counselor and she said that they’re probably processing all the materials from thousands of applications and I should wait several days. If there aren’t check marks by supplement, recs, and transcript by next Friday, then call.
