Cornell ED rejectees with 2300+ SAT scores

<p>my friend received a whopping 2400, with a perfect gpa,
and was rejected cleanly.</p>

<p>but her essay wasn’t really relevant to her college; she talked about majors that weren’t even technically a part of the college she was applying to. </p>

<p>so the lesson is,
work at those essays& don’t fret about sat scores too much. they really don’t mean much so long
as they are in a certain range. </p>

<p>Is this always/usually the case? I got a 35 on the ACT and worked really hard, but still only got a 3.57…</p>

<p>And on that note, what GPAs would be “in the range” for the majority of cases?</p>

i’d say 3.8 or higher, if you wanted to play it safe.

it’s funny to see how other schools scale the gpas according to class level and kids end up with these ridiculously inflated gpas</p>
