i have a 640 verbal(dang it..), but a 780 math, and a 720 writing, do you think that cas school for cornell ed will look terribly on my verbal?

No I don't think it will weigh that heavily against you. Although test scores are important in their process, they are not the most important thing. Almost any admissions person will tell you that they understand tests are a snapshot of a particular day. Overall, grades are more important because they show a pattern of sustained effort over time. And schools also realize that some people may do better on a math test than a verbal test or vice versa.

yea same here! i have a 630 in verbal and a 750 in math. i hope they don't look too badly on my verbal score.. i really try. i took the SATs 3 times and i just can't get my verbal score up.

lol i have 680 verbal first try... but my writing is just horrible : 630 I HAVE NO IDEA HOW THAT HAPPENED SO ****ED OFF cuz in practice tests i get 700+ with 8 on essay every time....

lol they blocked the word pised off.

i know it's really messed up. how heavily do you guys think cornell takes cr into consideration for an engineering applicant? i have 680cr 800m 800w on one try, and obviously my other scores are good, and i didn't think my cr mattered that much because i'm applying to engineering. but my grandmother, who taught english for 10 years and was an admissions counselor for a while told me to retake the sats because of my cr. someone please tell me she's insane.

Cornell engineering pays a lot of attention to math and science grades and scores. I don't think a 680 on critical reading (which by the way isn't a bad score and is in the range for Cornell) will make a difference.

say: grandma, you are insane. how about you take the SATs and lets see how you do

haha jk but really that would keep her quiet lol

just like you said, because you are doing engineering, they are going to see your perfect math score, which is a good plus
