Cornell Fall 2017 Transfer

No pin

this is ridiculous

@Mastodon97 is Ian actually reviewing our apps as an ILR admission committee member?

I know he is associate director for undergraduate but not sure exactly what his role in our application process.

Hey is the PIN the same as the Applicant ID or the activation code or is the PIN something different?

@collegefred23 Nope, Cornell doesn’t post the decision on the portal, but on a different website. The PIN gives you access to your decision on that website and you can use the forget-my-PIN trick to see whether it has been assigned internally.

Okay thanks! Do you get an email saying you received a PIN or is that something you find out on your own?

Any admitted students to CAS know how to check your transfer credit evaluation? I have no idea. I haven’t done the enrollment response form.

@iluvrunning Yes he is, he is the associate director of admissions and he has mentioned that he looks over our applications.

@collegefred23 if they go by how regular applicants go by, they send you an email with instructions on how to get your pin and everything. People have also been finding out by going to the decision portal and trying to see if they can get their pin by clicking on “forgot pin” and seeing if a pin is sent to your email. If nothing comes up, then that means that your decision hasn’t been made yet.

Thanks! @jhong0811 @EdwardL

Is Cornell giving Sophomore transfers the Guarantee Transfer option?

If the letter I got means Guaranteed Transfer, and I initially applied for Fall 2017, would that mean that the GT is for spring or for the following Fall semester?

@ruby21 I’ve been reading about it, and yes, it seems to be for the following fall semester. I’m not 100% of the details but I will attach some links! Good luck and congratulations!!!

Meanwhile, I called today and my high school transcript that I sent January 4th AND April 19th should be marked as received by tomorrow morning.

:)) =)) <:-P

@stuckonthisearth That appears to be the case! It would be much harder to offer it to junior transfers because they wouldn’t have much time at Cornell. I think the transfer option is amazing, because you’re not getting rejected. It’s basically saying: “yes you’re admitted but just keep up your grades and we’ll see you in a year”

did anyone else get asked to send midterm grades?

@financeguyjames I haven’t, but I think it’s odd because my midterm grades were never checked off but my application was sent for review. My school is on a quarter system and I made a note on my midterm report that my latest grades would be on my transcript. So I don’t know what’s going on with midterm grades. Did yours ever get checked off?

@financeguyjames If we submitted “supplemental information” would that appear in our portal?

mines not checked off but its under review… a lady from the college I am applying to just said can you please send me your current standing grades lol @yassgirl

@financeguyjames We’re in the same situation but I haven’t gotten the email. What system is your school on?
