@clightfield24 i answered this already lol but it said “Ordered”
Materials are finally all checked off! I submitted transcripts and such mid-March, and a college report early April. Looks like they’re picking up speed, super exciting!
@helloapple for Cornell specific essay, the prompt is something like “Tell us what you’d like to major in at Cornell, and why or how your past academic or work experience influenced your decision, and how transferring to Cornell would further your academic interests.”
First of all, you don’t want to say something like Cornell is your “only choice” because that sounds very close-minded, plus there’s no way that can be true. However, you also want to mention Cornell in your essay so they know you are really interested in Cornell and aren’t just applying everywhere, hoping for a fluke. Just show them some interest and dedication. Show them how you can be a good fit there or let them know what you plan on doing at Cornell to pursue your goal. You don’t have to make it THAT obvious and you don’t want to focus only on Cornell in the essay, but also your major-related passions/dreams, your personalities, etc.
This is just my opinion though. Essays are subjective. There is no right or wrong. Different people have different approaches on how to write their essays. Just write it in your own style and try to express yourself to the readers! Best of luck to you <3
@Boroboro I applied to Cornell and only one other university that doesn’t use the common app. They have their own online application system. So, in the common app prompt and specific Cornell essay I tailored it both for Cornell. Hope it will show the admission officers how much I’m committed to go to Cornell.
@mohamedali0923 That’s nice! I think it does show commitment! I wish you good luck
“On April 19th an email will be sent to transfer applicants missing required items.”
Hey, guys! I am a little late to the thread but I just recently paid the application fee so I was just now able to view my portal. All my materials are there and the admissions office said my application is in review. However, I never sent over my SAT Test Scores. The admissions office told me this could take some time to send over and that some students sent scores over while others did not. Apparently this decision is up to me, what would you recommend me doing? Thanks so much
@transferunkown hey, may I ask how did you pay for the application fee after the deadline? I have requested a fee waiver a while ago and it still hadnt been processed. I cannot view my portal at all. I am so concern at this point. I think the admission committee hasn’t started reviewing for my app since my fee waiver hasn’t been processed. I guess at this point, I simply have to pay for it myself but how?
@littlepuppy503 Hi! I was worried about that too since I sent the Fee Waiver through priority mail AND called many times. However, I was a bit fed up and tired of waiting to view my portal so I went back to the Common Application and paid the $80 application fee. I paid that last Thursday and now am able to see my portal and that everything is checked off and up to date. Processing said they possibly “lost it” so I could have sent the Fee Waiver again, but I know there isn’t much time to spare. With that said, you could re-send it or just do what I did and log onto the Common App and pay the $80 fee to see your portal ASAP! Also, I wouldn’t worry because when I called today the office said that my application is in review, so it did not delay the process (at least I don’t think)!
you have to fill out the NACAC transfer fee waiver form and send it to them for the fee waiver to be granted. this is what they told me to do when I called and shortly received the fee waiver.
@transferunkown Thank you so much for the reply! It calmed me down a lot! Does anyone know when the decision for Mechanical Engineering major come out?
@narinra just had every box checked off and I sent everything in well before the deadline, but was waiting on FOUR things to be checked off. I also sent my mid-term report on march 20th.
@MIgirl28 I had all of mine checked off on Monday and then sent off for review on Tuesday! I had to call them on Monday because it didn’t tick off in the morning and they were super helpful. Fingers crossed for the decision now! Whats ur major??
Can’t wait for Tuesday!!!
thanks
@narinra I’m english major!!
Does anyone know when the first wave of decisions are made for Dyson?
Judging by previous years threads, the next two waves are primarily rejections with a few scattered acceptances here and there. The two weeks after that are majority acceptances. Cornell appears to with down the applicant pool and then accept a lot of people, hence the rolling admissions I guess.
When are we expecting decisions?
@thehoff007 thats scary
@simonlee7 every Tuesday
