i dont care where the beef comes from as long as i dont get sick…

i am disappointed with the north campus dining hall hours though…any freshman out there can comment? arent you tired of a mad packed RPCC?

I would never touch the stuff they serve in Taco Bell.

then again, I spent 4 years in Arizona so my tolerance for bad Tex-Mex is very low.

So you don’t care how the beef tastes? Life is short. Eat good tasting beef.

Really? I was kinda turned on by the lack of chains around campus/downtown. Especially when you’re coming from a middle class family, you get tired of eating ***** all the time. I’m looking forward to some decent food.

Ha! We’ll make an effete, chain-despising liberal out of him yet.

i think ray mentioned this in another thread…how there are few choices in ithaca and they’re all pricey…

There are few choices in ithaca and they are all pricey?

Are you guys smoking something? Maybe you guys haven’t seen the real world in a while, but non-fast food costs money. Of course there are pricey options around, but there are tons of well-priced options in collegetown and in the commons.

I’ve never been dissatisfied with my restaurant experiences at Cornell.

yea, and anyone who says that cornell is pricy compared to NYC is a very ignorant and LOLOLOLOLOL ahahahahahahaha.

I don’t suppose you have ever been to Chinatown.

I suppose my standard for food might be higher, but when most of the $15 dollars dinners I’ve had here were about equal in quality to a $5 combo from Apollo’s, I’m pretty damn sure most of the places are crappy and overprice. Of course, you could go to Stella’s, but I highly doubt that’s a viable frequent option for most of us.

hey, stellas has half off burgers M-Th btwn 4 and 6. $6-7 for a really good burger? yes please!

dude, DP dough is like 7 bucks for an awesome dinner. Stellas in NYC would surely cost 25 bucks a plate instead of 15.

Restaurants in Manhattan tend to be overpriced. They really shouldn’t be used as standards for comparison.

Cornell dining hall food gets boring after a while (west is better). The a la carte places are fantastic though. The food at other universities is still terrible in comparison.

ray192 is correct!

I have been on over forty college campus’ and have eaten in every one of them. There has not been one school including any other peer college that serves better food than Cornell. If someone finds a problem with Cornell’s food than they have no idea what they serve elsewhere. Enjoy the food because at most other schools it was almost inedible.

momma-three…the cornell food is good…

waht i’m complaining about is the lack of fast food chains and the fact that cornell dining has suffered major cuts affecting the quality of the food and the hours dining halls are open o_O

yup. Cornell kids whine and complain since they feel entitled, but they are the lucky ones. Most universities use the same food vendor that also services the local prison facilities. It’s true that the dining has decreased in quality over the recession, but be happy with a very high percentage of locally grown food and consistent variety.

and believe it or not, enjoy it while you can. I think 50% of the sub $80K/year working adults I know eats Lean Cuisine every single lunch. They all line up at the microwaves at lunch time. I’d rather have a root canal.

Fortunately, with the help of a Hotelie alumn, I’ve taken many cooking lessons. Lunch today is homemade mint, sweet pea, and parm ravioli with a spicy lamb sausage and tomato sauce.

Oh come on. Taste of Thai? Boatyard? Simeons? Just A Taste? Rulloffs? Antlers? Plum Tree? Slouvaki House? ABC Cafe? Carriage House? Madelines? Any of the stands at the Farmer’s Market?

The food in Ithaca is extremely good.

The Heights is nice as well.

Brunch at the Carriage House can not be beat.

Yes it can. Huevos Rancheros at the ABC Cafe.
