We all heard that cornell's food is awesome. Can the experts give us the lowdown on each of the dining halls, and some of the alternative options?

excellent question sparticus. i love food. this thread needs to be on the top of the list! :D

come on perro, where are you, or cornellbabe, isnt she there too?

Uhhh its all really good. Really really good. Okenshields is the closest to bad that it gets, and its still a long ways from that. Everything is great on a day-to-day basis, and sunday brunches at RPU and especially Appel are usually killer.

Yeah, I had Sunday brunch at Appel... Oh my God... Amazing.... I could sit there for hours and still not have been able to sample everything.

Is it true theres a mongolian grill in one of the dining halls? Mmmmmm I'd go there all the time....

Ahh me too!! Mongolian is SO AMAZING! Does it exist? lol

I hear the Appel dining hall is great...I think that's the one where you can have a special meal with the chef.

How is vegan food on campus?? I know they have salad and stuff like that, but do they have like REAL food? LOL

yes. they have everything and anything your heart's desire. i love it when famous restaurants come to campus (called cross-country gourmet)...sooooooooooo delicious.

ya what do they have for vegans...and i dunt want that oil ridden, fried crap

oil ridden fried crap? Thats not crap my friend, thats manna!

Did I hear freshman 15?!

@ CU its the freshman 50, haha. You wont see a freshman 15 on me, unless its PURE MUSCLE RAARW! lol

it's called the cornell 12 (3 lbs for walking those hills ;-) ). i have about two friends who are vegan, and are doing quite well. just look for signs that say vegan (I think appel even has a vegetarian/vegan section too).

yeah cornell is obsessed with food i heard they give like 1000 different vegetarian and vegan options. I thought it was the freshman 50 at cornell cause of the awesome food :D so maybe it should be the freshman 47 for the hills.

You will have no problem eating well. Yeah, its the freshman 50 :D

Its the freshman 15 from mainly the alcohol not just the food. A lot of kids who didn't or only occasionally drank in high school end up drinking all the time in college. Beer and liquor have more calories than you'd think.

Haha that's true. But believe me, while a can of Beast has about 100 calories, a plate of Mongo has about 700. At most schools, this is true; it is the beer. However, at Cornell, its the food too; thats why we have the freshman 50.
