Hi!

General Stats:
I'm a junior. I'm a Caucasian male.
I come from small public high school (less than 1000 students) in New Hampshire. … Rural Area

(My small school is very limited with AP’s) I am taking mostly AP classes, but not all. 3 APs for senior year. I took a few college class instead of AP for senior year.

Test scores:
SATS: Writing : 790, CR: 800, Math: 700. Combined = 2290
SAT II: haven’t taken yet, but I expect around 720ish - 800. (im a good test-taker, not to brag)
* Qualify for national merits scholarship. Most likely going to be finalist (99th percentile)
* AP Scores: probably a 5 for this junior year one. I know the subject very well.

Recommendations:
Will be pretty good. I am a good student, I get good grades. No behavior issues, etc.

What are my chances at:

Harvard
Princeton
Yale
Cornell
Dartmouth
John Hopkins University
Georgetown University
Amherst College
Bowdoin College
Tufts University
Brown University
Notre Dame
Duke

I will either ED Dartmouth or Princeton!

Are my EC's impressive enough? I know my SAT scores and my class rank and my grades will help me a lot, but I'm worried about my EC's and courseload. I'm taking a few college classes in lieu of some AP classes next year. The rest of the classes I've taken are honors. Will that look bad?

bump!!!!

pls tell me my chances! I'd like a relative estimate cuz I dont want to spend 100s of dollars on useless applications. Thanks!

All are worth a try. I know Dartmouth takes a certain number from NH every year, you should be in there and Cornell easily.

Do you hold offices in any clubs?

Well, EC's (good enough) doesn't have an apostrophe. ;)

Just playing around.

What you've got is good. Then write very good essays, get very good recommendations, do something really special between now and when you write your applications (research, travel, publish something notable, etc.), demonstrate a passion of some sort, take the hardest possible courseload at your high school (sounds like you are already), and you'll stand as good a chance as anyone--better than many--wherever you apply.

Good luck. :)

you can't early anything at princeton, *tupid

I'd say you're in at Cornell, Tufts, JHU, and Bowdoin. Your ECs are actually quite good since you display a level of dedication to all of them. You have a good chance at all the others too.

are you serious, maributt?

why not?

princeton and harvard got rid of EA/ED for nxt yr and onward

Princeton: Accepted ; they love white people

hahahaha sars284...and if anybody's got either jian or li in any form as a part of their names, they need not apply.

you've got good chances fer all parkrunner

you got good chances everywhere. do well on your math SAT II to balance your 700 but don't stress either bout that you are very competitive and you have dedication to your ECs

good luck

Bumppppp!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're in great shape for next year. I'd say you're poised to have good chances anywhere by next year. Keep it up and good luck.

As an aside, what shows have you been in?

Harvard,Princeton,Yale - slim chance but who knows
Cornell - good chance
Dartmouth-decent chance
John Hopkins University - good chance
Georgetown University - in
Amherst College-good chance
Bowdoin College-in
Tufts University-in
Brown University-decent chance
Notre Dame-in
Duke-good chance

Please explain why you seem to differentiate between the selectivity of schools like Dartmouth, Brown, Amherst, and Duke? How arbitrary.

by prestige

Um, what? Okay.

yeah u have a pretty good shot, and really strong ECs. You will definately get in to at least five of the schools on ur list, but because the admissions process is kind of random with top students like urself I can't guarantee which ones ull get into, I only know that u will. does that make sense? anyways, great job and keep up the great work!
