"Cornell has not yet made a decision on your early decision application"

"Cornell has not yet made a decision on your early decision application. Please continue to check this site for decision information within the next few days. Thank you!"

Whhhaaaaaaaaaat??

Maybe to give rejected hope. Maybe they review rejected apps once more or something.

did yours say that after ....
"I am sorry to have to share some disappointing news about your early decision application to Cornell. I regret that we are unable to offer you admission to the university. I know that this is not the decision you were hoping for, but please understand that we gave your application very careful consideration. This is a final decision; we will not be moving your application into our regular decision applicant pool. "

???...because thats what mine says, and that seems screwy

Hmm.. no.. according to my first paragraph, I'm deferred

Its in every letter, even accepted and deferred...

oh god...

so that section cancels out by law of algebra and universe.

damn.

They changed it now, meant to say being mailed to you along with the online decision, bad wording they had in the first time.

deferred. lucky. me. more apps. i hate this.

human ecology deferral. oh the agony.

deferred from Human Ecology... i'm guessing it was because i didn't submit my math SAT II score which they require... hopeflly if i can do well on it in january and get good grades I have another chance

Dear Kristin,

Cornell has finished a careful review of our early decision applications, and the selection committee has decided to postpone a final decision on your application until the regular review process in the spring. I know that this is disappointing news, but please rest assured that your application will be read again thoughtfully and thoroughly during the regular decision period.

This electronic message is not your official notification. You should be receiving an official letter from us in the mail shortly. In the meantime, I wish you the best as you complete your senior year.

Sincerely,

they ask me to call them. what does that mean

^They had some of those last yr, I’m surprised to see a handful of CCers having it this yr…

I got the same thing:

“Cornell has not yet made a decision on your early decision application.”

I dont think this is “deferred”.

I think they didnt have time to go over all the apps (i submitted mine on oct 30) OR those who got that line are border line and they are reviewing again …

this sucks they should have made the decision dec 15 or something

I’ve never heard of that, but the good news is you still might be accepted. Even though it would have been nice to know now, I give them credit for saying they’ll review it next week rather than defer you until March.

What school did you apply to?

I know this must be maddening, but hang in there & GOOD LUCK!!
