Cornell Hotel, and just general questions

I would really appreciate some help!

How hard is it to get into Cornell Hotel Administration?

how “fun” or involved can you get at cornell, becuase i have heard a lot about dreadful weather, and nothing to do other than the town around it. Is it really isolated?

Is it better to do Early Decision or Regular for Hotel administration?

If i got to UCBerkeley or U of Boston or something, how hard is it to get into Cornell for Masters?

Thanks sooo much!

hotel school is competitive, something like 22%. You should really have background in the hospitality industry, too. Restaurant or hotel or a hospital perhaps, or something similar.

No, cornell is hella fun, look at the retention rate. And listen to the students. There are over 500 student clubs.

ED is always a bonus

For a masters, that would depend on how well you did at BU or UCBerk, wouldn't it, now?

hahaha hella.
ED usuallymakes ur application look a little better, meaning, itll be easier to get in.

thanks so much.

i guess my biggest issue is just the location. i don't want to just go out on weekends and get stoned which is what i hear everybody does. and i'm from cali, never lived in an area where it snows. -___-

just wondering, can u take general business in argicultural department for freshmen year and transfer to hotel school after 1 yr?

ED improves your chances because it shows you actually want to go to Cornell. A lot of regular Cornell applications are from overachieving kids who just fell short of Harvard/Princeton/Yale etc. So not only do you have to compete against these kids, the Hotel school is also hard to get into.

yes, hotel had an 85% yield for fall '05. That means almost everyone they accept will attend.

that means i got a sure chance of getting accepted into hotel school???

Acceptance rate: Percent of students accepted out of students applying.

Yield: Percent of students matriculating (declaring intent to enroll) out of students accepted.

It definitetely doesn't mean what you said sonic...and i before e, except after c :p

yeah, i wish a 85% acceptance rate.

i still dont get what Yield is???

yield=people who get in and decide to go

i want to apply ED @ cornell, but i need financial aid (does cornell give the same amount if i apply early or regular) and which Ivy schools gives most financial aid for early or regular

so, basically, out of the people they accept, 85% decide to go.

so 85% of people who get admiitted , go to Cornell, meaning 15% of ppl don't go to cornell, even when admitted???

and can u plz answer my question above regarding financial aid
