Does the interview help my application in any way? What does a “contact report” do and what can I say or put on it that will help my app?
As an alumni interviewer, I’d say that they are not that important from an admissions decision perspective. Our instructions from admissions are to position it as more for educating the applicant on the wonders of Cornell than anything else. I do send a report, but it’s mostly intended for adding information that might have surfaced after the application was submitted. We do not see any of the application material, so we won’t critique your SAT scores!
