because what other school gives each class their own official ice cream flavor?? =D Delicious.

haha, that is pretty awesome

but, id advise you to skip out on the ice cream social on the first night...awkwardness

a lot of people will already be in cliques by this time...

some will have already lost their v-card...

what awkardness do you speak of? :P

awkwardness as in...eating ice cream with a ginormous crowd of people you dont know...a little overwhelming

i went out on the first night and got it out of my system and actually attended the better events such as the Poetry Slam, the comedian (you guys will have a hypnotist which is soo much better), and Cornell Night

Bah. Just go up to the person next to you and ask them where they are from and who their favorite super hero is.

Orientation was the second best week of my life. After senior week.

what and when is the ice cream social?

the ice cream social is one of many events during freshman orientation...

make sure to read your agenda during orientation ^_^

Meeting classmates AND free ice cream !?!?! sign me up !

The 3 best weeks at Cornell are orientation week, rush week (for guys), and senior week. Slope Day is also amazing.

What is Slope Week and Rush Week?

Slope Day is a fantastic day of drunken debauchery. It's held on the last day of class and features music and other festivities on the slope called Slopefest.

It's also awesome b/c Cornell sells beer...and that's always amused me :-)

Going on what DewDrop said, SlopeDay is held on the last friday of classes at the end of spring semester. Most people don't have class on Friday and those who do usually drink in class secretly. Most people start drinking at around 9AM and drink the whole day until the concert (s) which is from like 3-6PM and usually features two small named artists and one big-named artist. In the past we've had Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, The Game, Ben Fold's Five, Hot Hot Heat, T.I., Gym Class Heroes. Many people pass out on the slope from drinking and many people don't even make it to the slope. There are also a ton of non-drinking activities (food, face painting, moon bounce, MGLC step show, air brushing) on Ho Plaza. SLOPE DAY is amazing,

I miss cornell :( cant wait until august lol.

I wish I was going back in August :-(

wow cornell really meant that much to you guys. I hope we will feel the same at this time next yr.

yeah im dying to go back sooo badly. i love cornell and you guys will too. cornell is pretty ideal in the sense that everything is there. free alcohol, friends, everyone is your age, a ton of food options that are readily available with the swipe of a card, you can walk around alone at anytime and feel safe, there's always something to do on campus (even though people say that we're in the middle of nowhere), and you learn to make the campus your own and have your own routines. and there's also those things called classes that you have to go to haha.

There is a solution to this you know. Stay in Ithaca for the summer.

Hell, I was even staying in Ithaca over winter break by the time I was a senior.

I would stay there but I'm taking an LSAT course here in the city and I needed a good internship. Do any seniors stay for a summer up there following graduation? I'm considering doing it next year.
