Cornell is less regarded among the elite but well-known among "commoners"?

“I’m so sorry to resurrect this thread.”
+1

?? I don’t have an agenda…this was the thread I posted on before so that’s why I posted on it again this time.

It’s not me who thinks Cornell is inferior but rather the elites. I’m just the messenger. I do agree Cornell is topflight in those areas but for some people, having top programs in hotel, agriculture, and labor makes a school seem “cheap” because you won’t find programs like that at the private Ivies. Cornell is an excellent school though despite what people may think…just doesn’t get the recognition it deserves.

@Chicago:

Stop posting your BS on this forum. You keep saying, “it is interesting to me the only Ivy League school that feels the need to defend its reputation is Cornell.” I tell you what the problem is: insecure snobs like yourself post on the Cornell forums because they want self gratification. They are immature.

I know plenty of people who have been rejected/waitlisted at Cornell, but have gotten into Brown and Dartmouth, etc. The reason Cornell’s acceptance rate is higher than the other Ivies is because it has by far the largest freshmen class; the real indication of Cornell’s desirability and popularity is the number of applications it recieves – the highest number in the Ivy League.

Stop making unfounded, immature remarks about Cornell. Spread your insecurity and negativity elsewhere.

Why would having a top flight hotel, agriculture and labor colleges make a school seem cheap? If anything it is enriched with diversity. Cornell is producing the leaders in Hotel administration who become the best in the field of business hospitality (aka the Hiltons). Cornell is also producing the best architects in the world and finally graduates from the ILR school become leaders of organizations like SEIU.

Chicago2014baby is a transparent ■■■■■. Really not too clever. You need to get over your Cornell rejection.

You must not think very highly of Cornellians if you think we’re going to fall for this transparent BS. Here’s how a thread works, kid: It’s based on topics, not posters. You have something to say about a topic, you post on a thread. You don’t post simply because that’s where you’ve posted before.

You resurrected the thread to make some empty “yay Cornell” statement, knowing full well you despise this school and could bring this disproven idea back to the first page.

Grow up. All available evidence suggests that we’re a lot smarter than you.
