i didnt get any email…any one else get one?

I didn’t get anything…

I didn’t get anything either, so wait, if we didn’t get an email yet, we didn’t get in?

Did they email people one at a time or was it a mass-email?

hmmm i’m not sure, there were no email addresses under the “to:” i wish there were so i could see how many they sent the email to though

For those people who did get the letter, did you write about your accomplishments and such? (such as medals, awards, honor societies, also EC’s and the rest), because I have a feeling that it’s most likely people who actually told this stuff in their letter that probably would be at least part of the first cut, if not, actually get in.

i looked over my letter again, and i spent one paragraph on awards, and i incorporated ec’s throughout the essay when i talked about certain reasons i wanted to do the program to back up my interests and how they fit in with the program.

i didn’t include awards because I havn’t won anything prestigious

i got the email the same time as the other fellow CC memmber did

and i didn’t write about accomplsihments at all…none…i wrote about my experience in a nursing home and my love for science

I didn’t get the e-mail, but my friend did

sad thing is… I am still hoping for it x]
hahaha

lol i actually wrote about my experiences in a nursing home too
wow, that’s really weird
but the email says final decisions made by friday, april 11. do they mean friday, april april 10 or saturday, april 11?

haha. i didn’t notice that before.

care to make it interesting?

oh well i guess i’ll know either tomorrow or saturday…
i hope they don’t wait until like saturday at 11:59 pm or something
did anybody’s teacher get called?

None of my teachers have been called, but I did receive the email.

I noticed the date thing too :). Maybe just a mishap. But (I might be overthinking this), they might have actually meant Friday because most people talk in terms of days of the week rather than actual dates, if you know what I mean.

But I doubt they’ll send anything earlier than the date they had originally promised, which was April 11th…

How many ppl might have made the first cut???

i haven’t received an email yet, and on the website it says notifications will be sent april 11th, which is tomorrow saturday. i’m not saying those who said they got the email are all liars, because it is possible, but i’m just pointing out what date the website gives

@ Ice

lol. yes the website says that. but sometimes, they notify the people that will get accepted or make it into the first cut and tell them earlier. and then, on april 11th, they let EVERYONE who applied know. so if you didnt get on CC and know that they had given emails to those who had gotten into the first cut, then you would probably never know that and just assume that you get a rejection or acceptance letter on april 11th.

btw, i didnt get the email either. so yeah. haha.

Students -

This has been another record year of applications; 1165 applicants for 10 spots. Acceptance is based on ‘good enough’ grades and a really good essay. You are getting this email because you have made the first cut. We will be making final decisions by Friday, April 11th. For the National Science Foundation, we would like to provide them with information on the top students applying for our summer programs thus we are asking all of you to complete an online survey. You will notice that we are not asking anyone’s names in the survey thus your responses will not influence our decision.

Please follow this link to complete the survey, it should only take 10 minutes or less.

that’s wat the email said…im not lying…im guessing decisions will be realeased tomm…

yea that’s the same email I got; maybe it meant they’ll decide by end of today and send out the mass emails at the same time sometime tomarrow

Yeah, I guess we’ll see by the end of tomorrow…
