does anyone know how hard is it to get in? and is it about the same level as RSI? thanks

bump......

considered doing itbut i landed two local internships instead
one im getting paid $3000 at a cancer research lab to inject animals lol
two internship (no pay) at animalhospital

how hard is it to get in?

not that hard i hear. but having a connection is a shoe-in

ah ok thanx

Maybe I'm biased, but definitely not on the same level of RSI ;)

has anyone actually applied yet? if so, do the teacher recs have to be sent by march 1st or can they come after the student portion has been sent (which will probably be march 1st in my case)?

ah and also, how do you save the application (like if you want to work on it later)?? I think I started on it like 3 times. gah!

can someone tell me what this NIH program is and what is it about?

thanks

it's a summer internship for high school sudents. that's about all I know about it.

EDIT: Holy crap, "580 posters presented by the summer 2005 trainees". that's a lot of people. I know there are many different locations, but I thought it was more selective.

i applied already, i dont think u can save the application. does anyone know if u have to find your own housing

I'm going! =P
You have to find your own housing at some point but however the SIP people will also help you out with that.

It's not really that easy to get in I think because they take very few high school students (assume that people here are all high school students?) I sent e-mails to like what? 60 or even more PI and most of them replied saying that they would consider but usually they took college or graduate school students.

Good luck people! I think it's the most important to contact the PI by e-mail first. btw you might want to sent those e-mails out early because I sent mine during Christmas and some of the PI told me that they already had students doing internship for the coming summer.
