My sister was accepted to Newhouse at Syracuse for communications. It has a great reputation and is highly regarded for that major as I understand. She was also accepted to Cornell as a communications major on a guaranteed transfer for fall of next year. She is considering staying at Syracuse because of Newhouse, though I think she would be better off going to Cornell. Does anyone have an opinion on Syracuse vs. Cornell for communications? Does Cornell's name carry more weight than the possibly better Newhouse program? Thank you!

Cornell is generally considered to be a much stronger school overall than Syracuse. However, when it comes to journalism specifically, Newhouse is arguably one of the top 2 or 3 programs in the country and will open many doors in that profession.
