Hi -- I applied ED to Cornell and after all my application materials had been recieved I got a call from an alumn from my area and she mainly had a whole interview with me over the phone. I applied to one of the schools that doesn't require/suggest an interview... so does anyone know if this interview meant anything, or did other people who applied have the same sort of thing happen???

nahh everyone has an alumni contact, it isnt really an interview and supposedly does not hurt or help your application.

They do have input on your application though, so it can hurt. It basically just helps the adcom gain a sense of who you are and how much you are interested in Cornell.

Cool, thanks for informing me!

I thought it couldn't hurt, but could only help??

when i had my phone interview i was told there was an evaluation form that was handed in so it must have some weight however little it is

CindyWC, of course it could hurt you if you say something stupid..like "Oh..I only applied to Cornell because my parents told me to", or something like that, you know? BUT I would say in most cases it helps more than hurts obviously.

It could hurt if, when asked "What sets you apart from all the other Cornell applicants?", you reply... "I don't know, probably nothing."

I AM SO STUPID!!!!

nice, ok not really

you said that thekristin?

unfortunately, yes.

lol, don't worry I can't even remember what I said because I had just woken up! :X
