Have fun

My interview was strange. He spent a while telling me that I didn’t seem like the type who would want to go that far from home, how I need to make friends since I wouldn’t be able to go home for thanksgiving, that I should have applied for a more obscure major, and that I should become a nurse instead of doing what my current plan is. Oh and how all they do is drink but he thinks I’ll be fine there.

^okay that is definitely not normal… my interview was not like that at all.

Had a pretty good interview just now over the phone but was a bit nervous, do they put any weight on these?

Not really, unless you really bombed it, like you came off as really arrogant/pompous or vulgar, or you really impressed the alumni and connected, like a 1 in a 100 interview, but in almost all cases, they really don’t matter.

Is CALS for BioEE extremely competitive to get in? (like as competitive as AEM?)

by bomb i think you meant pulling out a trigger and attempting suicide, then yes, it will affect your chances.
Adversely, you may come off as the second coming of jesus - that might, just might affect your admission rate as well
tl;dr - it won’t do crap.

haha alright no worries then, thanks.

hahah cornell was my ivy league crapshoot!

Anyone know when RD decisions will be announced (and via what method)?

I’d assume it to be March 29 and via your application portal.

It feels like time moves so slowly. I wish it were March 29 so I would know to be excited or sad lol.

omg i know. waiting is the worst part and then thinking back and regretting doing//not doing certain things. but i decided i’m okay with whatever happens because the universities that i’ve been accepted to already are some people’s dream schools, and as long as we work hard, no matter where we end up, life is looking good

Hi, applied to Cornell here too. (: Nice to meet you all.

I know what you mean about the waiting though. I almost wish I could fast-forward to the end of March.

@Dan4989, you are right. We have worked hard for the last four years of high school so whatever happens will happen. I am hoping I get into at least a few of my top choices but if not, I still have a good school that I would be happy to attend.

@mytuesdaysmile, you are preaching to the choir lol. Waiting is the worst part of the application process, especially for impatient people such as myself.

Have any of you been accepted elsewhere already?

USC with trustee scholarship! And a local college… But nowhere else!

Good luck RDers :P

Hello, I’m a Cornell applicant too! And boy, was it tiring to read through the posts on this thread Anyway, I’m glad to meet all of you, and ALL THE BEST everybody! :D

Cornell AAP RD Applicant>>> really nervous right now! I had to write the interview essay cuz I live in Nigeria. Does anyone think that might affect my chances!!! >.<
