@spaceprincess5 I actually didn’t see that on there surprisingly. Obviously I assume that I have to maintain good grades for the rest of the year of course.
Also, in case anyone missed it, for those who were accepted you can get a free Cornell Class of 2023 t-shirt! Just follow the instructions on the link.

Honestly, I’m speechless and couldn’t be more excited to attend Cornell
Does anyone know when Financial Aid packages will be released?
Does anyone knows if you have to major in the major you filled out on Commonapp? When do you need to declare a major? Thanks!
Tomorrow. It says in the PR they released.
Deferred from ED, now offered transfer option! CALS Animal Science major. Cornell has been my dream school for years so I’m beyond grateful to have the opportunity to attend at all, even if I have to wait a year!
Hello. Does anyone know if I can change my major from Human Development to Human Biology, Health, and Society?
@kittylover229 congratulations! I’m a transfer option student for the Fall 2019 semester. I applied ED last year and eventually got the TO offer. If you would like more information about it, I’m more than happy to communicate with you. I’m a TO for CALS as an Environmental and Sustainability Sciences.
For those of you who think legacy helps, it doesn’t. My son has a mother and grandparents as Cornell alumni, 4.63 GPA, 1520 on his SAT, AP scholar (all 5s on 5 APs)and 740 on two SAT subject tests, got rejected from CAS. Visited the school. Totally shocked and bummed for him. First we got the courtesy deferral on his ED and last night he got his rejection letter. Congratulations to those who were accepted. Cornell is a special place. Always thought he’d get accepted.
@robocop21 your case is one example of the contrary about legacy benefits. It is generally known that legacy does play a factor in admissions, but that doesn’t mean all applicants of Cornell alums are automatically accepted. Each Cornell school has their own specific criteria of the kinds of students they want to accept, so there must be a good reason why your son hasn’t received admissions into Cornell CAS. Regardless, this rejection isn’t the end of him because he has a plethora of opportunities to be just as good anywhere as attending Cornell. I assure you that your son can achieve great things if he puts his mind into his ultimate life goals and dreams! I wish your son the best of luck in his future endeavors wherever he goes.
For those who may be wondering about the tshirt, IIRC a card about it came in the mailed packet. It had a code and email address. The shirt itself was free but there was a shipping cost to have it mailed. Since we wanted to make a trip to campus to ask some questions, instead we requesrednit be held there and she would pick it up with no cost. Worked perfectly, she got the shirt in the bookstore along with us buying a sweatshirt! If you are going to admitted student days anyway, Inwpuld think you could pick it up then if you want to save the shipping cost.
officially accepted!!!
Officially accepted yesterday. Son received LL 3 weeks ago.
Waitlisted for ILR. Does anyone know when some might start hearing back on the waitlist, and when the absolute latest you might hear back is? Trying to figure out how long until I actually know where I’m going next year!
@enviscimath11 I would really appreciate that! My family and I have tons of questions.
Financial aid came out today! They send a link to view it by email
My best friend was rejected last night - no waitlist
This morning he got a guaranteed transfer option! confused but so happy!
