Cornell RD Class of 2023 Discussion Thread

Thanks for the input!! That’s good to know :slight_smile:

Cool!

As long as your general markers are 25th Percentile of Standardized test scores and 3.75+ UW GPA, your pretty much well passed the test. (Just as a general note, unless there are valid circumstances for a lower GPA, such as missing most of a term for a good reason, or major illnesses)

Does Cornell have merits for scholars?

@Zeylanite Only Finaid for US Citz.

Idk about intl. apps. tho.

External Scholarships are always open (not through Cornell ofc.)

Does anyone know if the ILR school will be mailing acceptances early March like they had done in most past years, or are they waiting until Ivy day for all like they did last year?

@yiddopup probably ivy day

@TheGuy1 Alright. I just recently saw a lot of results coming out with merits in many colleges.

How about SHA? Will they be releasing decisions from the beginning of March or wait till Ivy day?

HAS ANYONE RECEVIED A LIKELY ADMIT LETTER FROM SHA? HOTEL STARTED TO RELEASE LETTERS AT THIS TIME?

I was wondering about the same thing…

LL’s are still coming by, acc. to what ive heard. THey may reach apps as late as mid-march/1 week before dec. date

I dont think Cornell separates colleges while giving out LL’s or decs.

@Zeylanite Merit is given though, but i think a more appropriate term for Merit regarding US citz. is “MERIT”.

This is due to the fact that its a part of Cornell’s Finaid money that doesnt have to be repaid; its a part of the Demonstrated need for Domestic apps.

Idk anything of international aid, but I’m guessing they have to fight (in a competitive sense) for limited scholarships and funds that schools give out.

@TheGuy1 IDK either. Nevertheless Cornell is a great university

@Zeylanite True.

All that I know is that fo top schools, most/all of the demonstrated monetary need is fulfilled for US citz/Perm. Res. regardless.

Intl apps dont get the same treatment. There might be some who get all the demo’d aid, but not most/all.

Cornell gives need based aid.

Yes @momofsenior1

Its not need blind.

Cornell is need aware only for international applicants.

@momofsenior1 Yes.

I was just describing the process/result for top colleges, based on what ive heard from my intl friends

Hi all— I did RD to the SHA school & just got an acceptance letter today. Is this legit? I thought they came out in late march.

I have… I think
