I found out that there are 300+ applicants with “APP20” by advanced-searching. Assuming our previous conjecture (or my understanding of the situation) is correct, this means that there are 300+ deferred ED students who got accepted. Since this seems to be very unlikely, I think the alternate username astrology is only relevant to those who got accepted & waitlisted (and not the rejected ones for self-explanatory reasons). Or, this may not be relevant at all.

Also, I tried to work out for the total number of people in that database with APP-21 using advanced search and then manual counting (idk, I just got up after sleep so I just had time to waste 
)
The total number comes out to be around 22,000-23,000 (or atleast it has an upper bound of 26,000).
Cornell had 6630 + 44870 (ED+RD) = 51,500 total applications last year, and this year the ED alone was close to the 10k marks, so I highly suspect the reason as to why there are only 22k-23k entries in that FA database.
Also, total number of (admit + waitlists) last year was 5154+6750 = 11,904.
And the no. of entries in database is around half of that, so definitely not the case of all admitted and waitlisted.
Idk, if some of you can figure out about the reason of only 22-23k entries, given the context of data for previous year and no. of ED applicants this year.

nahh, some of those might be the ones who enrolled in the 2020 summer program. I think one person mentioned something regarding this earlier

apparently a lot of peoples portals still say “You will be notified of your decision on today, Tuesday, April 6 at 7pm (EST)." mine doesn’t
