Hi! I was accepted ED into Cornell University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences for Environmental Engineering. Before senior year, I had a cumulative weighted GPA of 4.5 and a cumulative unweighted GPA of 4.0. My schedule for senior year and the grades I will most likely receive are the following:
AP Macroeconomics - B
AP Calculus AB - C
AP Environmental Science - A
AP Chemistry - C
AP English Literature - B
AP Physics C - A
Does anyone know what my chances of being rescinded are? Thanks
Does your admission offer list any specific conditions for senior year grades?
^ The Key question.
Just that your grades for senior year should be of comparable standards from the rest of your performance in high school. They specifically say that there is no specific formula.
You should be fine- if you were ED, they are very unlikely to rescind you- but if it were me, I would be doing everything in my power to bring up those C’s.
Going from a 4.0 to a 3.0 is a pretty big drop, so they could rescind your admission. That does not mean that they will rescind your admission. So you will be worrying about it all summer at least.
As long as you don’t get D’s or F’s in ANYTHING, and of course neither cheat nor do anything else stupid/illegal, the odds of your being rescinded are pretty low, but CALL, get in front of this - if you do, they’re much less likely to take action than if they find out when they receive your final transcript.
Two C’s could be a concern. Try hard to bring at least one of them up to a B range for the final grade
