I was looking at some tips for transfer students on the cornell website and found that "we (cornell) need final grades for the current semester's classes" BEFORE making final decisions.
Is this just a sometimes? or is it the case in most applications?
anyone previously transfer went through this?
any input would be greatly appreciated!

really? where did you see this? ummm, I thought they only need mid-term report...

Wait... by final decision do you mean a review process where they retain the option to deny you.

because i read that they send out decisions around may/june. and often need you to send the official transcript for the final semester before they release the decision... (they need midterm too.. which doesn't really make sense)
i hope this is not always the case... pressure ><

My friend transferred to CALS last year, and he found out even before we were taking finals, around early May, so I think it is only sometimes, maybe if you are really on the border between getting in or not.

link to where you found this tip?

wraider2006: thanks for sharing this =D
but im still a little nervous since my school year ends (official marks are out) by end of april..

and...
i found this on the HE website tips for transfers : http://www.human.cornell.edu/che/Academics/Admissions_services/Undergraduate/admissions_process/upload/Transfer_App_Tips_Aug_2006.pdf

Do you think that this is something that all of Cornell's colleges do, or just HumEc?

I think all colleges have this option, even for GTs who may have missed one of the requirements.
