Cornell Undergrad Business #5 in Country

Bloomberg Businessweek has just ranked Cornell's undergrad business school ["Dyson"] the 5th best in the country. This is the second consecutive year Cornell has ranked fifth.

It’s not a business school…

no one cares…

As a student of this so-called “business school”, I’m making a statement. If you want to ■■■■■, go ahead and embarrass yourself more.

What’s indisputable is that a highly reputable financial publication consistently ranks Cornell in the top 5.

"What’s indisputable is that a highly reputable financial publication consistently ranks Cornell in the top 5. "

I don’t think this is worth a mention. All top schools except Wharton don’t have legit UG business major. Breaking top 5 is no big deal. Cornell MBA (Johnson) ain’t top tier. It’s not even top ten.

LazyKid, I strongly disagree. 142 schools were rated, including many “top” schools. The rankings are broadly disseminated. Yes rankings are highly subjective, but they definitely do color perception of program and student quality.

US News has a better ranking system with Wharton, Sloan and Haas being the top 3. Cornell is 10, which I think is more fair. I wouldn’t trust ranking system with Notre Dame and UVa on top.

guys… the Dyson School is certainly happy about the new ranking but i dont think it’s something to fight over… some people like rankings and others despise them. who cares. just be happy that you go to a reputable school.

i agree that notre dame and UVA being on top is questionable, but the ranking system considers other factors (recruiter survey, job placement etc.) too. it’s not all based on wharton’s “prestige.” if you look closer, wharton has an “okay” job placement rate (88%? i dont remember) while the other top schools have job placement in the 90s etc. im not saying wharton isnt the best; just saying don’t just judge everything based on prestige…

The only people that care about this are the people on cc -_-
There’s no such thing as correct rankings anyways. People perceive a group of schools to be top tier. It’s the individual’s self presentation skills from there on out that determines anything.

Well put, Anti.
