@phsstudent17 Me too!!
@phsstudent17, might be a silly question but what is ILR?
@phsstudent17 I’m on the same boat!!
@johonmilla ILR stands for Industrial Labor and Relations, one of Cornell’s colleges/majors.
The school of Industrial Labor & Relations at Cornell University.
Okay, it’s nice to know I’m not alone! Hopefully it works out for all of us on the 30th.
@skieurope You actually did! I must have entered the discussion mid-delete. Thank you very much.
@phsstudent17 don’t worry too much about it. All of my friends got into ILR through regular decision!!
How many likely letters do you guys think they sent out in total?
@ALLCAPS24 I think the norm is 100-400
@zampa21 last year?
Received an email stating "This special invitation is extended to you because of your strong academic and personal record and because you will be admitted to Cornell University’s Class of 2021.
You are cordially invited to join us for
Diversity Hosting at Cornell University
Ithaca, NY April 11-27, 2017
Your admittance packet is in the mail!
Is this consider a “likely letter”?
@MC2174 that is considered a “diversity letter.” Congratulations on getting it! It takes a lot of hard work to obtain, I assume. Also by when are you expecting your admissions letter?
I really have no idea. I was expecting to be notified of a decision on admission in late March and instead got this email.
@tem339 yeah. Many of my friends were accepted on ivy day.
I also asked admissions and they said that a majority of the acceptances will be on ivy day. Only a handful of students get LL or diversity hosting.
And remember even if 100-400 (not sure if these are accurate numbers tbh) do get LLs, Cornell is a big school so it makes sense that there are quite a few LLs being distributed already. And If you were applying to a LAC on the other hand, the numbers of LL would be smaller because they accept less people in general. So don’t feel down and just believe for now!! I thought I wasn’t going to get in but I eventually did (on ivy day) so there is still hope.
just got a likely letter this afternoon! here’s what it looks like in case you want to know:
"Dear Sarah:
I am writing to let you know that the admissions selection committee has completed its review of your application for admission to Cornell University. Although the Ivy League member institutions will not officially notify Regular Decision applicants of their decision until March 30, it may help you with your planning to know that you will be admitted to Cornell University."
I applied to the college of HumEc btw!
@kbn2015 how is that possible? These letters were sent out two days ago…
I’m international, it was an email dated March 15, 2017
