Hi everyone !
I just received an email from Cornell financial aid admissions office asking for me to submit some financial aid documents before Thursday. Knowing that decisions are released one week after, could that indicate a possible acceptance ? Would they bother asking for more financial aid documents (especially in such a short deadline) if they were sure I would be rejected ?
Thank you!!
@PinkQuetzal9 what are your scores?
@booknerd99 Nope! They just do it for everyone.
Does anyone know what the difference is between the diversity hosting and cornell days?
@agarwalmridul09 They’re not up to Cornell’s standards, but here you go. I sent all of my scores to Cornell (accidentally), but here are the best ones. My other 2 ACT scores were 25, 25, and other SAT scores were 1170, 1280, and 1290.
ACT: 30C (35E, 35R, 25M, 26S) w/essay but don’t know the score
SAT: 1360 (730R&E, 630M) 24/24 best essay score
Also 2 SAT Subject Tests: Biology E (680) & Spanish (800)
I applied to the College of Human Ecology for the Health, Human Biology, and Society major. Cornell knows I plan to be pre-med.
I would take requests for more information as a positive sign @booknerd99.
I received requests for similar documents last week from a school my D applied to and the notification date is this Saturday. She was deferred through EA and should be accepted.
@PinkQuetzal9 congratulations. Despite average scores, your application must have been excellent and they gave you a likely letter. Your ECs and Essays must have been stellar.
@agarwalmridul09 I didn’t have many ECs but I was deep into the ones I had. My essays were strong.
@PinkQuetzal9 are you of African descent
Hey guys if I just submitted my last financial aid document last week and finally completed all the required docs, do you think I won’t get much grants and scholarship from Cornell because their money may have potentially dried up already? I got a likely letter but im scared they wont give me much money and that i wont be able to go because my family cannot afford it…
@ALLCAPS24 No. I’m a Hispanic female.
@booknerd99 I still have some error in my financial aid status and I didn’t receive an email…
I personally think you’ll be fine. Cornell has a pretty nice endowment. These ivies can practically pay for every single student to attend for free (obviously they aren’t going to do that though lol). With other schools who may not have as large as an endowment, submitted financial aid documents late could be a disadvantage. However, like I said, I doubt that you have anything to worry about @Dubudubu
Thanks @okaylaa you made me feel much better
I’m hoping @PinkQuetzal9 isn’t lying. I had very similar sat scores but I had a lot of EC and my essays were pretty good, I think. But I didn’t get into UCLA and I didn’t get a Diversity letter. I’m a Hispanic Male.
Still waiting to hear back from Berkeley.

@skieurope, this is fair. Thanks for the reminder.
Does anyone know how many people Cornell puts on wait list? Just wondering.
@NeuroNerd99 Nope, I’m actually telling the truth. Look at the UCLA thread pg 121, Stanford RA Results pg 3 or 4. I’ve posted the same stats. If you want to look through past threads for further proof, you can look through the Cornell, Brown, maybe Harvard and Rice, UCD, and UCSC threads. And for the record, if I were planning to lie about my stats, I would inflate them because trust me when I say that putting a 26 for Science on the ACT hurts when science is my favorite subject. No lie, reading the amazing stats here has tempted me to lie about my test scores so they wouldn’t look so pathetic, but really, if I did that, I would help no one. I only put my stats to help future applicants anyway.
Oh, and also, this is pure curiosity: was I the user being accused of being a sock puppet? Sounds like it but I didn’t read the posts, so yeah. Just curious.
