****Cornell University Class of 2021 Regular Decision Thread****

Just checked my e-mail and I got mine at 1:21 PM! I’m pretty sure everyone will get one of these, and it doesn’t say much, but I’m curious if everyone got it.

same I’m just curious if everyone got it because there’s a person in my school who also applied to cornell, and we both applied to the same school within cornell, but I got the email and she didn’t

I haven’t received the email about Cornell decision date. I’m not international either. Should I be worried?

you could just receive it later on @TheShortSon

Received at 1:38 PM, and I am East Coast!

I just received it.

just received it

Anyone in California receive the email yet?

@USUG21 I did not apply for financial aid and in my fin aid to do list it has all the documents that say “initiated” except for IDOC which says “ordered.”

Recieved mines at 1:43 PM. I’m pretty sure they’ll send to everyone, don’t look too much into it

Yep, we’re all getting to a point where we’re paranoid about receiving emails about decision date notification!

@TheShortSon wht does this imply…

Never mind I got it.

still haven’t received it lol

I got it

@eventhorizon8756 my daughter received hers at 10:15 this am!

Were all applicants asked to supply financial documents through IDOC?

Just received it.

Responding to the discussion about interviews a few pages back: my son’s Cornell interview was a bit different. For other colleges, the alumni interviewers set up individual appointments at customized, mutually agreed upon times in nearby coffee shops or over Skype, but for Cornell, the CAAN alumni group set up one date and time for the whole area.

Basically, they seem to have sent out an email to everyone who applied in our area and told them to come to the food court at our local landmark tourist site on a certain day. If you responded to the email, you were given a 30 minute timeslot that day. At the food court, they had tables draped with red tablecloths so they were visible, and interviews going on one-on-one at tables scattered throughout the very noisy, touristy area. Since we live about 15 miles from that food court, I am guessing they may have covered everyone in a 20 mile radius in one day this way.

The alumni did say that it was mainly to answer questions about Cornell for applicants, but that they would sent a write-up of the interview to admissions, although it would be a tiny factor. My son said the actual interview experience was comparable to the other interviews he had.

So it seemed to work out OK for my son, and was very efficient for the alumni. However, I think that my son would have been very stressed if he had not been free to attend that day, so that is a drawback of this system. Also, driving into the center of our local city with all the traffic and unfindable parking was a hassle, and quite time consuming, but there was no way my son would have not taken the opportunity to interview if possible.
