Maybe it’s alphabetical ?
Why are people saying the time at which you receive the email correlates with your decision? I mean, I’m all for trying to decode the admissions process, but I believe that’s a little bit of a reach. Perhaps I’m missing something? Hahaha. Anyway, I received the email at 1:31 p.m., so!
@realperson2990 Unlikely. My last name starts with T and I got mine at 1:21 PM EDT.
Clearly, if you received your email in a time that ended in an odd number, you’re bound to be accepted. Everybody can see that, right?
I do not think that Cornell is boring to this point. You are asking the favor for yourself? :))
@realperson2990 yh I think you’re totally right. I can totally see that
@realperson2990 Ha! Love that response! It’s a standard email that went to all applicants. Variance in time delivery has to do with mail servers, mail clients, mail queue, server connections and much more I’m sure. Email - seems so simple but there is a lot going on! And for those who didn’t get one check your quarantine or spam folder just in case it routed there.
@TrudiRexar My alumni interview was one-on-one at a fast food joint near my home. I had to reschedule it once because the original email had gone into my junk mail folder. It was cool though. I guess not too many from my area have applied to Cornell so they could do a one-on-one meeting.
I never got offered an interview, and I’m in central Florida (not Tampa or Orlando). Is that bad?
@eventhorizon8756 - I live in California and I received it at 9:00 am PDT.
@Scholar1917 no, they don’t offer an interview to every single person that they think will be accepted into the university, that would be like impossible. Don’t stress, a lot of applicants don’t get offered the alumni interview. I know people from my school that weren’t offered the interview but were still accepted.
@USUG21 Exactly! What does it mean?
@TheShortSon if your financial aid says “initiated” or “ordered” then it just means that it was incomplete. But if u didn’t apply for financial aid then it shouldn’t matter. I got the info from this link https://meetezra.admissions.cornell.edu/index.php?responseId=555&typeId=3
@TheShortSon I’m pretty sure it means they requested more financial aid information through IDOC and you didn’t submit it.
If by some miracle, my S is accepted, I will immediately work on all the “initiated” items.
Hopefully it won’t be too late.
@kalons is correct. @STEM2017 this is what initiated means, it means that you did not accurately finish something with financial aid likely in IDOCS. Still if you get accepted, you can deal with it then.
Shoot, mine all say “initiated” as well
It stinks because I am in a great place if I dont get into Cornell–I would be going to a top 15/20 school. but I want Cornell more than anything.
Strange thing is, I was doing fine suppressing my anxiety and obsession until these last few days; going by as slow as ever!
