Awesome! Hopefully we both get in. Are you applying as a NYS resident? @KaleSeed
No ): But good luck to you too! I’m so nervous!!! Cornell CALS is my dream school (: I could not visit though because I am too far away, and my visit would be very expensive (out of state expensive)!
Apandaactivism,
I agree with DryMango. Someone at your school is totally wrong. My D got accepted ED with humanities- leaning major. One of her rec. letters from her English teacher. Just make sure your grades and SAT are in the Cornell ballpark. Write an outstanding, passionate essay about the subject you truly care about. Make sure you show why Cornell has what you are looking for and what you can bring to Cornell. Good luck.
Asian,
The answer is not at all. Many students do not know what they want to study. If you do, it won’t hurt you to say it. Just make sure you put it altogether well in your essay.
@a20171 I’m applying to HumEc!
does anyone know if cornell accepts research abstracts?? and if so, how does one go about sending them? thanks!! this is for HumEc if that helps.
Hey guys, I accidentally confused myself and did not submit my resume. If I send Cornell an email, will they give me the option to submit it? This is really worrying me.
I did the same thing… and wondering the same thing @johnlimster
Why send a resume? All the important information they need should be on your application. Right?
I have some activities and volunteer work that is not represented in the application. As long as the resume is not redundant, it should be included I would think.
@math3matical @johnlimster I made the same mistake so I called the admissions office and they told me to upload my resume through this website https://forms.admissions.cornell.edu/webform/admissions/submit.php
Life saver @y90y90 :)>-
does anyone know when we should be receiving our Cornell applicant IDs? i submitted last night!
@wormholes I received mine 2 days after I submitted my Common App.
@y90y90 thank you!!
The countdown has begun my dear friend,
So clueless on where we will attend.
But as a Cornelian at heart,
And three months until decisions start,
I’ll fight senioritis ‘till year-end.
My resume was around 7 pages. I listed all my activities and detailed explanations for each. However I heard that resumes are usually 1 page? How will cornell respond to my resume?
Omg (sounds more like a CV). They’ll probably just glance at it for 2 seconds. There are around 40k applications to review so hopefully your “resume” is new and essential information or they could find it annoying. The application should be sufficient.
When do we hear? And how, via email, portal, or snail mail? Does everyone hear at the same time?
i would totally have made a 7 page resume if i could, but i know its unrealistic that all of it would be read. lol. so i stuck with a one page resume, because it isn’t “annoying” for them.
