@gokdon, not sure if [that question](****Cornell University Class of 2021 Regular Decision Thread**** - #1181 by gokdon - Cornell University - College Confidential Forums)'s been answered around these parts before, but no, Cornell (seemingly like all the other Ivies) does not generally offer merit scholarships. Part of the rationale is that if an Ivy-level school did that, every student there would merit one, which didn’t make practical sense, so they seek to offer the best need-base aid instead… reducing the student loan portion as much as possible for family w/ middle-or-lower incomes (and assets). Because Cornell’s endowment-to-student-body ratio isn’t as big as the other Ivies, it can’t offer quite as good financial aid as the others (like no need-based loan aid at all at Harvard, Yale, Princeton, et al), but still quite good IMHO (and better than what I received back in my day after adjusting for inflation).

Does Cornell give any Merit Based Scholarships? Any Full Tuition Scholarships?
And as an Artsie alum who befriended many Aggies back in my day (and still remain in touch w/ some), nice seeing all the CALS candidates congregating here. The Aggies always seemed like a very down-to-earth, fun lot. And yes, animal sci is pretty cool (and exceptional at Cornell… though any Vet school seems top-notch for their field). We used to joke about stuff like the correlation between long arms and cow exams, etc (though I never did visit any friend’s turn at such cow exams)…
FWIW, I hear Penn State is pretty awesome for animal sci as well, if anyone’s considering that school as great alternative – one of my Aggie friends became a PhD candidate there years ago and still lives in/around the State College area w/ her hubby (and kids), who’s also same class Aggie alum (and friend in same circle).
