Cornell University Fall 2020 Transfer

All of my supplemental information has be submitted since March 10th. Hopefully they are reviewing based on when applications were submitted as I have not spoken to admissions about my application.

@CALSgirl2020 After your application is complete it will be sent to the school you applied I am guessing CALS, and I believe they review by major after that.

@Newyorkkidd What’s OP and how did you get your application forwarded?

@aspiringgirl It’s an NYS program only a few people are accepted

Has anybody else received this update on their application for finical aid. I called and the Finical aid office said that they needed this document to make my finical aid package for next year.

@kavan716 they probably put the wrong year

I think its because of COVID-19, the economic is flopping, they want to make sure that everyone is good to attend if admitted.

i think really few people apply for transfer this year or recent future few years ,and many current Cornell students withdraw from school, given the circumstances.

@kavan716 I remember that u said u didnt apply for financial aid, right?

So if I do not have that W3 file in my portal it’s bad? Just want to know what to expect or prepare for sadly

@DrewGonz19 it’s okay, and it’s just criteria to ensure you’re economically capable to attend cornell.(though i didnt apply for financial aid)

W3 are for business owners, like if you or your parents own a company

@Newyorkkidd they did not put the wrong year I called and thats what the finical aid office said. I also spoke to one of my friends who transferred last year and he said he had the same thing at this time so well see when the time arrives.

NY@Cornellian2025 I did apply for finical aid, I am a NYS student.

Still says initiated on my financial aid checklist. Probably means they haven’t even got to my application yet lol.

What is this pin trick you guys were talking about ?

@DrewGonz19 everybody has different finical aid situations. I was asking about my tax schedule 3 because it was uploaded onto my portal today and has a due date that is in the beginning of next year. the finical aid officer said that I had to fill it out to receive a finical aid package for the 2020-2021 year. You’ll be ok, its still kind of early.

I wish I was a TO student, but reading last year’s thread, I noticed that some TOs with all the requirements and 4.0s didn’t get in. It’s scary because we never know with Cornell.

@aspiringgirl what is your major ?

@kavan716 Africana Studies. At my current institution, I have 2 majors and a minor, but I am just going to have one major and one minor if selected to attend Cornell.
