Cornell University Fall 2020 Transfer

Can someone please explain to me what’s schedule 1 for? My parents only have schedule 6 but not 1

@Thea19 thank you so much for letting me know! That whole situation has had me worried this past whole week. It makes sense that they wouldn’t penalize us for something that is out of our control.

@JakeLax I am submitting them all today but it says they need 10 days to process. Do you know if it would affect my decision or does the financial aid package come afterward?

@ahy2000 I really don’t think that it will affect your decision, but don’t quote me on that. I know some schools have deadlines for submitting your tax documents to receive aid but you should be good because they extended the application deadline to today and because of the pandemic. I would just make sure to get them in ASAP because it might delay your aid decision.

I just checked my portal and Cornell finally got my transcripts from commonapp! Still no email response though, which is pretty frustrating but im just glad they finally have all my materials

Cornell finally checked that they received my high school transcript, but how would I know they received my financial aid documentation

I think you just gotta wait for the financial aid checklist to reflect that they received the documents, or call financial aid

Also for the schedule 3/schedule 1 documents that are on a lot of people’s checklists, my parents didn’t have a schedule 3 form so we called cornell financial aid and explained to the lady how we don’t have that and she was super helpful and waived the form for me and it was removed from the checklist. So i would recommend calling cornell financial aid if you have any questions about the checklist

Can you give me the number you called? my parents did not fill out schedule 1 and I was worried

cornell financial aid: 607-255-5145

Thank You so much, I called just now and the lady waived schedule 1. it was really fast

How do I know if the documents were turned in? Does initiated mean they were received?

The lady said they will take it out of your to do list when they process it to their office

So I have to send all of those documents in my checklist? Those that say initiated?

yeah you have too

@eligarcia15 my schools registar office closed down their phone lines and have an automated response that says they will reply in about a week. Kind of left in the dark here. Btw you should probably tell your school to send it digitally. It takes cornell 2-3 weeks to process the physical document.

@eligarcia15 you should be fine. Are they sending the document remotely or digitally?

did anyone submit a personal letter of rec?

@dooleys its not mandatory but it may be to late to submit one if you want to now

Shadowed two classes and both sister & uncle are alumni. To brief high school, it was depression, traumatic experiences and a lack of motivation. Despite not appearing up to snuff as most, I would like to believe that I am a determined individual with heavily ambitious goals.

Been stalking this forum for a while now, so it’s nice to step out and introduce myself! =D

@dooleys I did not because my counselor told me it would make zero sense if only 1 is required.

@parsonbrown I don’t think Cornell would care about your high school grades because you have shown them that you are capable of doing college-level work.
