Hi! I need help figuring out where to go as I have been accepted Cornell, UVa, Emory, and Georgia Tech. Below is some more information about my options. What would you choose?
Cornell: School of Hotel Administration, most expensive.
UVa: will probably go into the business school, out of state student.
Emory: will also probably go into the business school, in state student (so HOPE covers a very little amount).
Georgia Tech: Scheller College of Business, in state student, Honors Program.
It sounds like you need to have a very frank conversation with your parents about your family’s financial situation.
I wouldn’t outright reject Cornell because it is the most expensive. Instead, you need to know what its higher price tag would mean for your family and you. Would it be a hardship for your family? Would you need to take out loans that wouldn’t be necessary at the other colleges? Or can your family afford it, and is the higher price worthwhile because you’re specifically planning a career in the hotel and restaurant industry?
