My daughter just called me from school. She said she got an email at 8am(pst) from Cornell CALS and asked her to confirm whether or not she will COMMIT. So exciting. She need reply by tmr. Does this mean she will highly get in Cornell?
We are so desperate waiting for good news. She is straight A with rigorous courses. 4.4 GPA Weighted and 4.7 UC GPA, an SAT 1580, and only 16 years old.
Please coach us what to do next step. God bless all good kids.

Congrats. This sounds like good news. Last week, my CAS daughter received the same email and was admitted a day after the email deadline. As far as I can tell, all CAS waitlist admits received the same email. Caveat: CALS may do things differently.

my daughter’s school is also CAS(Arts & Science). (I did not know CAS, CALS and so on. I just checked her email from Cornell).
So exciting. And wish all good kids get in their dream schools.

Any news on Dyson? It seems like they haven’t started pulling yet. Does anyone also know anything about the past years of the Dyson waitlist? Have they used it a lot or barely?

It’s a tiny program, so if you extrapolate from the #s taken off waitlist in general, then it works out to less than 10 off the waitlist.

Approx number of Dyson undergrads - 700
Approx total number of undergrads - 15000

So less than 5% of undergrads are Dyson students.

Number of waitlist admitted students:
2019 - 147
2018 - 164
2017 - 75
2016 - 61

So if the same ratio holds for waitlist offers, then you can see how truly unlikely a Dyson waitlist offer is.
