So, I've been accepted at Cornish College of the Arts, and unless something changes, that's where I'll probably be going this fall. I've been gathering info from the school itself and from other sources, but is there anyone here on CC who is particularly familiar with the acting program? Is it pretty rigorous/intensive? Specific techniques taught? Anything else I should consider?

Hey!
I’m pretty much in the same boat as you. I’m split between Cornish and Pace and am leaning towards Cornish because Pace requires too many GE requirements for my taste (pace is pretty 50/50, whereas Cornish is like 75/25).
I don’t know about you, but I got a great vibe from them at the audition. They were friendly and really seemed to care, which made me really like them. They told me at the audition that there are around 60-70 people in the theatre department. by the time you hit the end of your sophomore year, the dept. pretty much splits into three different sections: acting, original works and performing arts (musical theatre). your freshman year, you have all your theatre classes with the same 12-16 people. another thing I personally liked was the smallness of each class, even the humanities classes. plus, cornish has dorms now, which my mom wouldnt have let me go there if there werent.

they’re pretty experimental, so they don’t really follow a specific “technique”. i’m pretty sure they explore several techniques and try some weird new ones as well.

it is rigorous, however, junior year is the most intense year. most students have the time for a job and are employed, though, even a few junior students…so that could help with the costs. however, i’m also still waiting to hear about financial aid and such. pace was so generous with scholarships and loans that its making it hard to turn down.

I spoke to an MFA student at ACT (American conservatory theatre) in san francisco, who was also a Cornish alumni, and she had nothing but good things to say about the department and the head. she told me richard et white is still casting her in jobs.

hope I helped! good luck with your decision, and maybe I’ll see you next year. :)
