My daughter was accepted to both and are planning to visit them but would love any info or opinions anyone may have! Thank you,
My D has also been accepted to Cornish. We visited it last year and it left such a great impression on my D and me. She loves the urban campus. She loves that it’s an arts school and not a university with arts-focused curriculum, even in the non-major courses. Even though it’s not what’s considered one of the “elite” schools, she really liked the people she auditioned with and on her visit, one of the professors spent a good hour with her in the cafe just answering questions. That personalization of her visit really left it’s mark.
Her primary concern with Cornish is that the success stories seem pretty local–if she planned on staying in Seattle, she would likely fare well in the arts scene there. It would be a little harder (but not impossible) to branch out into other cities, get started in NY or Chicago, etc.
Also–they have built a brand new building this year with AMAZING dorms. A full bath (including a tub, which my D loves) in each room.
My D is super into how a place feels as much as the curriculum, which is why Cornish stands out in her mind.
