Correcting Incorrect School Profile?

I'm experiencing a sort of dilemma. I asked for a copy of my high school's profile today, and some of the information on it is wrong. It states that honors-level courses are offered in mathematics for all four years, but these courses are in fact only available to seniors. I am enrolled in this course, and have been following the most rigorous schedule available. However, I'm afraid that colleges will think that honors math was available for all four years, and hold it against me that I am only enrolled in this course as a senior.

When I told my counselor, she just shrugged and gave me a, "that's just the way it is" response. Should I try to politely correct this under the Additional Information section of the Common App? Will it make me look like a jerk, or, even worse, a liar?

I have a 4.0 UW GPA, 2280 SAT, and near-800 subject tests (790 M2, 760 Bio-E, 770 USH). I've worked hard to excel in school, and I'm afraid a typo will mess it up. What should I do?

Thanks in advance!

Sorry to hear that your GC is acting so unprofessionally, that’s really not an acceptable answer. Have you submitted your applications yet? If not, ask your GC to make a note about the availability of Honors courses only in sr year on the SSR, that’s the appropriate place to make corrections if your HS is unable/unwilling to update their profile to reflect current coursework.

If she doesn’t comply to your request, I would suggest you ask your parents to get involved. It is a small request and I think it’s the responsibility of the HS to have a profile that accurately reflects the academics at your school.
