my FAFSA said: "The Social Security Administration did not confirm that you are a U.S.
citizen. You must provide your school with documentation of your citizenship
status before you can receive federal student aid."
and i sent an email about this to u of illinois, and they told me to fax them a copy of either my citizen passport or citizenship certification paper. and i faxed them today, but my FAFSA report still says the message above. do i need to call FAFSA to fix that problem?
thank you.

No, the school fixes it on their end. There is a flag that will appear for the school, and the school is required to verify your citizenship & lift the flag for themselves.

so i can just ignore the flag on my FAFSA account as long as i sent the school the proof of my citizenship right?

I am guessing that you are not a citizen - in that case, schools will have to verify your eligibility to receive financial aid. The flag will stay on your FAFSA. Schools will lift the flag once they see your documents.
