FAFSA U.S citizenship confirmation?? help please..

Hi~
After reading my FAFSA status today, I noticed a message below my EFC:

"WHAT YOU MUST DO NOW (Use the checklist below to make sure that all of your
issues are resolved.)

The Social Security Administration did not confirm that you are a U.S. citizen.
Please provide your financial aid office with documentation of your U.S.
citizenship (such as your U.S. Passport, Certificate of Naturalization or Birth
Certificate). If the documents support your status as a U.S. citizen, the
financial aid office at your school will make a copy of your documentation and
can continue to process your federal student aid."

does that mean I need to send copies of my U.S passport to every school I applied to??

thank you so much!

Yes, that’s what it means. Are you a citizen? You might want to contact the Social Security Administration to make sure that your records are properly updated. If you are not actually a U.S. citizen - that is, you qualify for aid as an eligible non citizen - you will need to supply the proper documents to prove your eligibility. From your post, it sounds like you are a citizen … I just added the last part in case others reading are actually eligible non citizens rather than citizens & are wondering how to handle this situation.

thank you so much! yes i am a citizen , sorry i didnt made that clear…thanks again!
