Thanks Jack and have fun at Irvine! I think I also owe my teachers thanks because I don’t think I would have gotten in without their recommendations.

Are you guys going to bring your own laptops?

BTW does any of you guys know where to get a cheap macbook? I got in UCI Cluster 5 and we are going to be writing iOS apps, but I do not have a macbook :/

In the acceptance e-mail for UC Davis, it said the participation forms were due May 2nd. However, on the actual forms, the due date was listed as April 25th. Which date is the right one?

@literatimuffin you should email the person who sent you the acceptance email to check when they are due.

@pigscanfly1324 I’m bringing a Chromebook to UCSD COSMOS and I’m pretty sure you’ll be working on their computers for your cluster. They also said on the website that they have laptops for rent I believe so I don’t think you should buy a whole new laptop just for COSMOS.

@pigscanfly1324 the cosmos program will provide a laptop for everyone. everyone in the cluster will have matching macbooks.

.

@crowdedkitchen will the participants of UC Davis COSMOS program receive laptops too for free?

@bboyinmartin They don’t get free laptops, they just get to use them for the duration of the program. But you should look on the website for UCD COSMOS to see if they have it there too.

Do you know how many people is in a dorm?

so should we bring out own laptops tho

@pigscanfly1324 At UCSD I know we’ll be in rooms of two or three, but we’ll be in suites so I guess that means there are multiple dorms in one big place with a “living room”. This is what it looks like for UCSD COSMOS:
https://hdh.ucsd.edu/housing/images/erc_6room.jpg

For UCI I don’t know but it says on the website that you’ll be living in the residential halls of Middle Earth, and here’s more about Middle Earth: http://housing.uci.edu/housingOptions/Middle_Earth.html
@exl028 I think you should bring one if you already have one, but don’t make your parents buy a whole new laptop JUST for COSMOS mostly if they’re already paying for your tuition.

if you have a laptop available, i would recommend to just bring it. you probably won’t need it for most of the program, but it will come in handy at the end when you’re scrambling to get your scientific poster board done. also, if you have a laptop it’ll be nice to have easy access to email, facebook, etc. so bring a laptop if it’s not a bother.

I agree with the above post.

aightttt awesome
THANKS GUYS! <3

Should we make a Facebook group for each campus or cluster!? Just to know each other prior to the program; we could know if others play the same sport so we can bring our sport stuff or something along that line.

@JackPham UCSD COSMOS already has a facebook group, but you should make one for UCI.

Is there going to be one for UCI? :O

Ok, since no one actually made on for UCI, I’ll start
https://www.f a cebook. com/groups/1418390531759275/
