The title says it. Thanks.

Not a student but a parent...but...

UNC has a cell phone program that they will be mailing you info about along with sign up forms over the summer. It's similar to the laptop program. It's done thru Cingular and appears to be a better deal than going into a Cingular store on your own. I think there is info about it on the UNC website as well.

The two big banks are Wachovia and Bank of America both with locations on Franklin Street and ATM locations all over campus.

If you are not from Carolina, my advice would be to see if either has locations in your home town so that you can have a parent on the account with you which will facilitate transfers/deposits etc.

thank you very much eadad.

Does anyone know where I can find some info regarding cell phone on UNC website? I couldn't find it.

Under the " For Students" section go to "Students' Services" then click on Carolina Wireless Initiative (CWI)

for banks, i'd recommend Wachovia

cell phone wise, talk to your parents about that, personally I don't know anyone who did the CWI and if your in-state I'd recommend just getting a cell phone near your home that has a good region. But like I said, talk to your parents about cell phones and what plans

For Cell phone, i recommend getting a Samsung Vision Phone and Sprint..
For Bank, RBC Centura (very good for UNC students)

I did CWI with Cingular...it works really well and it has the best reception on campus of any of the providers -- you will get good reception everywhere. I'm not sure though how it compares in price with other plans, although it is definitely cheaper than regular Cingular plans.

How does Sprint work compare to Cingular?

The cheapest non-pay as you go plan I saw on the Cingular site was $39.99... is that the lowest UNC offers as well? How much does UNC knock off the monthly price, or do they just help with the purchase of the cell phone itself?
