I meet all of the requirements of the Koplik scholarship except for one: I need to take an sat 2 in the humanities area (english or history). Since I wasn't sure about going to Umass at first, I didnt apply for the scholarship, but now I'm a bit more interested because of the cheap tuitition. Would I still be able to apply for the Koplik scholarship even if I were to take my sat 2 in june? I know it's very late, but I heard from somewhere that I would sitll be able to make it.

If you are a junior then yes, you will probably be able to make it. But if you are a senior then I would say no. Keep in mind that it takes a couple weeks to even receive your grades for the SAT’s, so you wouldn’t even be able to apply for the scholarship until almost July, which is barely a month before your first semester in college starts. By that time they have already handed out all the scholarships for that year.

I believe I applied for the Koplik around November and was notified in late January that I received it. If you qualify for the Koplik then you qualify for the Adams, I presume, and the two are essentially the same so it doesn’t really matter.

My son qualified for the Koplik, but not the Adams because his class overall scores so high on the MCAS, and he was not in the top 10%. For kids in very high-achieving Mc+CAS districts, the Koplik provides a different way to qualify

I think you have until May of this year to apply for use this fall. Look it up and check out the requirements.

when i said they were the same i meant in terms of what the scholarship offers. both are tuition wavers, the only difference is the requirements for the koplik and adams and for the koplik you must maintain a 3.3 gpa whereas for the adams you only have to maintain a 3.0
